The exhibition Life Force - Vitalism as an artistic impulse 1900-1930 was shown at the Munch Museum from February 16th - April 17th 2006. The focus was on vitalism as an artistic impulse during the first decades of the 1900's. It consisted of approximately 35 works by Edvard Munch together with borrowed work - approximately 20-25 artworks by other artists from Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The exhibition explored new perspectives concerning the relationship between nature and human beings, between gender and body, between the individual and a collective/national health, as well as nation building, wes put focus upon. The project received economic support from Fritt Ord. A seminar was arranged March 10th 2006.
